The guitars were tuned for the last time - I had made sure of it. Through the thick curtains behind which we were hidden, we heard the audience. The previous dances had driven them to a frenzy - they were waiting for more. Could we deliver, would we, once again, disappoint ourselves?
I turned around to look at the rest of them. Someone forced a reassuring smile at me. "We're gonna do great. All we have to do is enjoy our show. We don't have to be better than anyone. We just have to outdo ourselves."
And then we were braced in a tight circle. The five of us, shoulder to shoulder, arm on arm. We prayed for a great performance - god knows we had worked hard - and most of all, we prayed for the crowd to enjoy what we were ready to give.
"Nemo my Band Forevermore........" palm on hand we chorused each other enthusiastically. There were sparks in everyone's eyes as we searched each other's faces for confidence.
Outside, the crowd was yelling for us.
"Let's do it! "
