From Tolerance Day to Den' Smekha to Sangam, nemO has undoubtedly gone through quite a number of things together. For pulling through all the thick and thin together, I applaud you all. For learning from our previous mistakes to produce this unforgettable performance, there are no words to describe what I want to say to all of you.
We were never meant for pitch-perfect stunning performances.
To others, our show may have been mediocre, to say the least.
But we never expected to give anyone a perfect show. Professional singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers and dancers can take care of that - they are a dime a dozen in this world full of talent.
Yet THIS is what nemO was made for. A bit of off-pitch singing here, a bit of off-tempo strumming there. It really doesn't matter.
What matters is that we, each of us amateurs, or worse, have pulled through together - emerging from the blinding fog of so many little trials that were adamant on throwing us off our track. We gritted our teeth and swam through the many uncertainties and doubts. What was left was to give our best with the worst that were given to us.
And when we were called upon to perform to the expectant crowd, we did. Belting out our much-practiced songs with full force, we looked them all in the eye and the message was delivered.
"nemO my band forevermore..."
And we did not shine because we played beautifully - I admit that we didn't.
We shone because we gave our very best.
